Volkswagen Is Committed to Creating Jobs in America

The Volkswagen North American Manufacturing Headquarters first opened in Chattanooga, TN in 2001, and has grown to employ 3,200 people throughout Tennessee. Through the products and vehicles made in the Chattanooga plant, there are over 9,500 indirect supplier employees, resulting in an expected $12 Billion income growth in Tennessee. Because of the success of plants like the one in Tennessee, Volkswagen is committed to continue creating jobs here in America and continue to help grow our economy.

While vehicles like the Volkswagen Passat may be designed in Germany, it's built right in Chattanooga, TN. Not only does the Chattanooga, TN Manufacturing Headquarters create jobs by building vehicles like the Passat, it's also a model for sustainability as well, with over 33,000 solar panels and an Eco Dry Scrubber system which saves up to 20,000 gallons of water a day by avoiding excess water consumption. The use of efficient light bulbs saves 20 percent of energy compared to conventional lighting and LED street lights save around 100,000 kilowatt hours per year. Between the growth of jobs and efficient use of energy, the Volkswagen North American Manufacturing Headquarters in Chattanooga is a model for other projects to come, and here at Mohegan Lake Volkswagen, we couldn't be more proud to be a part of such an innovative and progressive group. If you're interested in learning more about the American built Passat, we welcome you to come join us here at our dealership to view our entire selection of new Passat models and take one out for a test drive to experience first hand the benefits of German engineering and American manufacturing.
